INNA LILLAH WA INNA ILAIHI RAJIOON...!

Israel's genocidal war on the Palestinian people in Gaza has entered its fifth day. More martyrs, more injured, more destruction, more Arab and international silence and more Palestinian steadfastness.

The number of Palestinian martyrs has risen in the last few hours to more than 368 people while the number of injured Palestinians has reached 1,750. Being injured in Gaza, even lightly, might mean certain death so just imagining the number of critical cases especially children suggests that the death toll could rise dramatically.

368 martyrs, 1,750 injured, tens of thousands are displaced, the Rafah crossing is closed and Arab leaders could not yet agree on holding an urgent summit amid Egyptian preservation over the feasibility of the meeting, while the Arab ministerial gathering slatted for Wednesday is still under preparation. Still, so called moderate Arabs are hibernating and accusing the determination of the Gazans to prevent Israel from achieving its goals, for the Israeli aggression.

On Tuesday afternoon, Israel pressed ahead with Operation Cast Lead, with Palestinians reporting IAF strikes on two targets in Gaza City and the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis. Israeli Army Radio reported that a Hamas police station was amongst the targets.

The Israeli occupation army confirmed air strikes against dozens of targets in the central Gaza town of El-Bureij, near Khan Yunis and in Gaza City.

Earlier, two Palestinian sisters aged four and 11 and a man were killed in an IAF attack on Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip. On Tuesday morning, Israeli air raids on Gaza killed at least 10 people and wounded 40 others when Israeli fighter Jets dropped up to 16 bombs on a series of targets in the Strip including Hamas government buildings in Gaza City. The group's Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, and Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh's offices were amongst the targets, as well as Gaza police stations.

Meanwhile, Israeli ground forces were making final preparations for a ground offensive into the territory. Tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery batteries and soldiers from several infantry units massed along Gaza's border ahead of the operation, which defense officials said would likely be limited in time.

Israeli Defense officials said that the ground operation, if launched, would penetrate deep into Gaza with the aim of dealing a strategic blow to Hamas. Barak, the officials said, declared during the assessment that he did not want to utilize all of the forces at the army's disposal since it would create "static targets" for Hamas.

"We will hit them where they least expect it," one official said, adding that the artillery batteries deployed along the border would likely be used in the event of a ground operation. "We will need to constantly be moving on the ground to maintain the element of surprise."

Palestinian resistance movements have said that the Israeli massing of troops and tanks outside Gaza was more a psychological war than anything else. The Palestinian resistance did not rule out a ground operation but pledged to confront the Israeli offensive with every means and stressed Israel will be surprised with new resistance tactics and weapons.
